That was a relatively quick fix and has so far not reappeared. Then anemia snuck up on me over the last 6 months. That was just a symptom of the larger issue. A PET scan last February revealed a possible issue in my colon and a colonoscopy and biopsy 1½ weeks ago revealed that the once possible issue is in fact a malignant tumor growing near the junction of the ascending and transverse colons. This is why I am anemic as the tumor is bleeding into the colon faster than the marrow can make new blood cells. I am going in for surgery at the VA Medical Center in La Jolla to have this removed December 19 at 6AM. Any further treatment, if necessary, will be dependent on examination of the tumor, tissue and lymph nodes. I will post updates as they come available.
