Well it has been a long journey - A lot of the fake heads who only followed to get a follow back have finally unfollowed my soundcloud, however, the tables turned as the real heads started following and actually took over as the majority - when I say the real heads I mean the ones who actually care about the music, the ones who truly want to follow, and the ones who arent just looking for a follow back (which I always check out who follows and if I do like what they do or want to support them I follow back). These days its hard to tell what is organic on soundcloud but having a pro account I follow the demographic, who is playing my tracks, who is following - this is how I gauge what is real and what is not. Im very happy to say I am at 991-999 (it has been fluctuating still) followers on soundcloud, with consistent plays and downloads going up on the daily - making me feel like it is finally something to be proud of. I have a lot of projects I have been working on since I havent had internet, remixes and originals - and I would like to give something back to everyone - that being said after I have reached the big 1k - and it stays at 1k+ long enough for me to know that it is a truly earned 1k, I will be giving out 1 remix and (after I discuss what will be released in the future) I would like to give out an original for free, not an old played out tune, but something fresh that I have put weeks of time into working on. My productions are taking longer than ever because the overall tracks used to compose the full production is getting into 40-50 tracks per original (at least when its drum & bass due to the complexity and texture that goes into drum & bass production). Im actually happy that Im not just releasing stuff that I want to just get out anymore but really making the effort to get these tracks on a level that I havent achieved in the past. I want to thank everyone who has supported me on the way and I hope you all truly appreciate what I am doing - Keeping real electronic music alive. All this began when I officially launched myself a little over a year ago as Alekay, and soon after became producer and DJ for my record label Theoryon Records, Gary Gitlin taking on the position as my manager, and then being given the opportunity to run Theoryon DnB as a production/entertainment collective of Theoryons Drum & Bass talent. I have no animosity towards anyone who has decided to go off any do their own thing, I think everyone should follow their heart when it comes to music and the industry, but I appreciate everyone who has stuck around and supported and has had faith in what we do every day. Big things are coming, theyre already happening but they are swelling bigger every day. I spend every moment I can find pouring my heart into my passion because this is what I want to do, along with other things like audio engineering & electronica events, which to me they all tie in together. I dont consider myself a professional yet but I definitely would like to think that I am a credible artist who is truly in this for the music. Youd probably laugh if I told you how little money I have made off my passion to date, but thats fine, its not about the money, it will follow if that is what was meant to be, but its more than that because I am here making it happen. no one needs to wish when they have the ambition - this is about making real things happen in the real world - on that note; Thank you everyone who has supported Alekay, Theoryon Records, Theoryon DnB, and everyone who works with and around us doing what we do.
