Well it is that time. I have been asked way too many times for my opinion this past week and when you come off a 48 hour road trip to NM and dont really have the energy to go to bed at this time it is just as good a time as any to pontificate about todays Super Bowl. Short and sweet before I elaborate I see the Broncos winning this game comfortably as long as a few real possibilities dont happen. As for score Ill go 34-20 Denver. Now that I have that out of the way these are the very real scenarios I see playing out.......Broncos are going to move the ball. The key will be scoring touchdowns in the redzone and not turning the football over. I dont worry about Manning. I am more afraid of Ball or Decker fumbling than #18 throwing picks.................The modern NFL is a throwing league and you dont win big games hanging your hat on running the football. Seahawks wont get away from it as fast as NE did a couple weeks ago but I dont see them chewing up yards. The X-factor is Lynch may go +1, +1, +2, -1, +3 and then +50 or more for a score............Russel Wilson cant/hasnt beat anybody sitting in the pocket and picking people apart. All of his big plays come on busted or improvised plays. The defense can be perfect on any given pass play and then he will pull a spin-o-rama special and hit you over the top on a scramble. The challenge for Denver will be containing him in the pocket and then punishing him should he decide to run it. Easier said than done............Seahawks fans and supporters giddy at the thought of Percy Harvin going off in this game. He is a dynamic talent. But he is one big hit from going down in this game. But if he does find a way to make big plays in the passing game it will spell big trouble for the Broncos..........The weather is going to be a non-factor. The pundits were all lined up and ready to give the Hawks the edge at the thought of typical New Jersey cold weather and wind but that doesnt look to be a factor now............Seahawks are a home field team. There defense thrives on getting that extra step on the pass rush at home. Their corners play press coverage knowing no QB in their joint is gonna get over the top of them. No such advantage today.........I think that is enough to catch my drift. In order for Seattle to win it seems they have to rely on a few things going wrong or sideways for Denver. Without turnovers or fluke scramble plays their task is a mighty one. I always prefer to hang my hat on more sure things i.e. Manning picking defenses apart and the Thunderwolves mens basketball team winning on the road and losing at home LOL. Enjoy the game everybody.
