Well it looks like Im going to have to try and fill up every Friday and Saturday nights I can with gigs (as long as the Friday gigs are local area because I have to teach on Saturday mornings and afternoons) -the hours in my new teaching job are a lot less than I thought would be the case but-its very early and I know that registrations will definitely pick up more and more as the weeks go by (I hope!).The staff there though, are top-notch and have been very helpful in helping me make the adjustment-very professional but personable bunch! So prospective guitar students of any age-hey pick up that phone and call Visionary College (Southside location) and tell them you want guitar lessons with that french-canadian guy stat! As for any bandleaders ,duos ,trios, whatever size band (heres a hint;if you have a really big band everybody basically just makes maybe gas money..) if you need a lively guitarist /vocalist (whose voice is coming back more every day)-message or call me please! Sorry for the shameless double-plug but hey, a guy has to eat and pay rent! So for this month I am open for Friday the 19th, and Friday the 26th.For next month (Oct.) I have Sat. the 4th open, and then wide open for every weekend (10th, 11th, 17, 18th etc) for the rest of the month.I am transitioning to a more substantial teaching role now for sure, but that doesnt mean ((nor should it) that Im not playing live as much as possible also-its my lifeblood in every way. Most of the guitar teachers still gig, even years after they start and build up their student rosters.I just cant take those far away road gigs (especially the casino back 3s up north that were my bread and butter) while Im doing this-and Im determined to make it work, and work damn well. Full stop. Finally.
