Well, it looks like we will be getting our first real taste of winter this week. The local weather says we will be in the teens by Thursday morning and the cold will hang around for a few days. Looks like we may get some flurries tomorrow too. We have high winds today and just lost a tree across from the house. I spent much of yesterday running the rest of the extension cords for water tank heaters and filling the tanks without heaters full, so they will freeze slower. I see 5 gallon buckets of hot water in my near future !! LOL Our ponies have their full winter coats on and are ready for the colder temperatures. I have been feeding extra hay midday to keep them busy and to build up a little extra fat for warmth. All but one pony have shelter against the elements, but the one has a new Weatherbeeta blanket, just in case. Dont forget to share our wonderful rescue ponies with your friends.
