Well it seems my flood photos have possibly stirred up some folk but can I just say ive not heard of any farmers complaining about the floods , ive always understood that all the silt and rubbish somehow fertilised the land ,well thats what my old grandad told me . I do have some more photos of that particular year but they are not of good quality but ill put them through photoshop and see what they come out like .The ones I put on were 1 Bathursts boat yard with the railway bridge in the bacground ,2 Bridge widening scheme , and 3 everybody knows that one surely . As a rider to the railway embankment , I remember vividly Dr Barbara Moore who waled from John O Groats to Lands End having got to the base of the Mythe Hill she had to walk along the railway line to gain access to town and continue on her way . now does anyone remember that and does anyone have any photos of her doing just that .
