Well it was a cool crisp morning early today in Toccoa at the Currehee Military Weekend; temps in the high 40s and winds from 15 to 20 MPH. Hard to believe it was summer less than two weeks ago. The cool windy weather probably cut down on the crowd in our sector of the festival (the airport); also some of the events directly impacted by wind were cancelled. Still we had a pretty good turnout; Capt St. Clairs Currehee Cadet Squadron did a great job working the event and recruiting. Also we had a great cadet recruiter up from the Griffin Composite Squadron, Cadet Mercer. When it is all said and done, I suspect we had a pretty good day; 19 individuals showed varying degrees of interest in joining the CAP; most from the Toccoa area and one from Gainesville.
