Well, its 30 degrees in Austin, so we are all CLUTCHING OUR PEARLS. (Just let it be, northern friends. We are shivering in our flip flops.) But our good, good friends Anna and Andy are coming over for dinner, and I could not be happier. On these cold, blustery winter nights were all having, what is better than putting beef stew in the Dutch oven, a fire in the fireplace, opening a peppery bottle of Cabernet, and inviting good friends to dinner? You dont even have to clean your house. Good friends dont care. They are just happy to be at the table with you. Since were all stuck inside DURING THIS WINTER VORTEX, invite folks over for dinner! I cannot think of anything Id rather do than pull my friends into my house and feed them well and enjoy their company while the blasted wind is howling outside. It helps beat back the winter doldrums and gives you a reason to cook a big pot of soup... Im making beef bourguignon, of course, because what else even makes sense with this FROZEN TUNDRA WE LIVE IN HERE IN TEXAS APPARENTLY.
