Well its Monday morning and I have been up and at it for a while. I got in from the Shenandoah Valley Knife show in Virginia at 10 pm. after a 7.5 hour drive. The drive home went so well and traffic was perfect. A nice end to a great weekend. The Show went very well also. We engaged in numerous conversations and discussion about all things knives and sharp...Met so many nice people and renewed acquaintance with a number of folks in the knife community. It was good also to have made sales and get custom orders..which is important. But it was the people that made it so good. Had dinner with Jason Roberts and Jake Kirks on Friday night and what a great evening and meal. Saturday was busy at the show and afterwards Tom Heard of Turning Point knives joined us for our meal. Our dinner, fellowship and time was so good. Getting to catch up a bit with Lacy Smith {Smith Knives& Alabama Damascus] was good. Emails and facebook are amazing for being in touch with folks, but to connect face to face in real life, I enjoy. I have done business with Mike from Wood Lab for a number of years and a couple times a year we cross paths and get to talk, this weekend we caught up again. I met makers and dealers from across the country and many became new friends,I look forward to returning next year to the show. I will make a post or two more about the weekend today and tomorrow. I am grateful to my wife Linda for her support and help which made it possible for me to go and it sure was good to get home to see her and this morning to enjoy coffee together and some catch up and a great home cooked breakfast. Posting a couple pics of a Larger camp knife I forged from 80crv2 steel, with brass bolsters and desert ironwood handles.Have an awesome day and great week.
