Well, its Thursday already and therefore time for our weekly - TopicsExpress

Well, its Thursday already and therefore time for our weekly update. I know we did a little one earlier this week but needless to say, its been a very eventful few days. Its already been seven days since we took possession of the farm. Its so strange to think of the months and months that led up to that day, and now here we are. It still feels very surreal but every day it becomes more and more real as we settle in and get to work. Last night we cleaned the stalls for BJ and Escalade who will be joining us very soon. All thats left to check are their fences, and to make sure their pasture is in tip top shape before they get here. We cant wait to start filling these fields. Weve also done some more fence work in Esthers main pasture, and completed a new area right off the house so we can let her out the back door and she can walk right in to her big field from the house. Weve got some gates in too so we can keep her close at night on the rare occasion she wants out after dark. Inside......well, lets just say were getting there. Priorities have not included unpacking yet but thats alright. Were doing a little bit each day after we come in from outside and take care of the rest of our duties such as the typical Esther work online, and our day jobs. Fun stuff. Hahahaha. Everything will be worth it as we start to see the animals arrive and thats what keeps our engines running in overdrive. Outside of the move, our new products at the Esther store are being incredibly well received. Weve taken on picking, packing and shipping of all orders ourselves too because we found ourselves with so much free time.....oh wait, thats not why.....it was so we can ensure the fastest turn around and accountability on our end. If you havent seen it yet, come check out the Esther store on our website. Shipping rates have been reduced and were still able to ship worldwide but act fast to ensure holiday delivery. All proceeds from store sales go straight back to the farm to help us bring this sanctuary vision to life. Were also getting an incredible amount of requests to help out at the farm. We cant thank you enough and we will absolutely be taking you all up on the offer. You can sign up on our website to be included in our volunteer program to stay up to date on work day dates, current and future projects, and special trades and skills we may need from time to time. It doesnt matter if youre a general contractor, handy with a rake, or just able to help in the office and with craft projects; we need all hands on deck so dont be shy. Finally, we have an update on our charitable status. We got word this week from the governing agency that our application is in final review with an officer. They tell us this is good news and with any luck we should have word within a few weeks. This is a major step for us so fingers crossed, an approval so quickly will allow us to really kick things up a few gears at the farm. So thats it. Thank you everybody for being part of this unbelievable week. We took a huge step this week in bring Happily Ever Esther to life. Weve worked really hard to get this far, but we both know it was nothing compared to what we have coming our way. Were braced and ready so bring it on, weve got this. Have an amazing day and an awesome weekend everyone. Sending our love and best wishes. Xoxo Steve, Derek and Esther.
