Well its all over bar the counting. Have recently felt like a contestant on Take Your Pick when Des OConnor tried to trick his victim into saying Yes, I even remember the original host, Michael Miles, Chrissakes, Im auld! Whichever way it goes it has been a privilege to be given the opportunity to be part of one of the most momentous occasions in Scottish /British history ever. I pay tribute to Alex Salmond for pushing the referendum issue and also the Westminster parliament and parties for facilitating the process culminating in the unique opportunity that we have had to exercise a democratic opinion upon today. Passions have been running high on both sides of the argument and I will readily admit to getting carried away at times myself, Im as human as anyone else. However we emerge as a people tomorrow I will accept the democratic will and although Ive had many - at times heated- arguments with friends and work colleagues I am confident that we will all come together again in a spirit of mutual respect and friendship. We truly are all Jock Tamsons bairns.
