Well its my turn to let my friends and family know what fun we are - TopicsExpress

Well its my turn to let my friends and family know what fun we are having here at Castle Donovan. Thursday last while playing Super Grandparents at Little ts house Grandpa took a bad fall when he stepped over the pet fence instead of opening and going through the gate. He was putting a glass in the kitchen for me so I guess this is all my fault. He ended up with a spiral break of his femur. At first he was sure it was just a muscle thing and he would be fine. Thank God out beautiful daughter-in-law, Ashley L. Donovan was there and that she is a nurse. She has a great way with older patients. She took care of him through all kinds of stages until he finally agreed we needed help and let me call 911. We had three EMTs and 5 or 6 of San Antonios hot firefighters in Ashleys kitchen. It was a very painful procedure getting Tim Donovan to the ambulance. They took him to the closest Trauma Unit (University Hospital). Still in super pain we thought he was going right to surgery. But after talking to him and all team decided to wait for the best Dr who does these joint replacements. On Friday he was moved to a ward and made as comfortable as possible. He is flat on his back, in traction and on pain meds. He is as comfortable as he can be and scheduled for surgery on Monday morning. I have lots of help here from friends from Tims golf buds to USMC Family to neighbors. Both James Donovan and Colleen Donovan Garrett were ready to drive hours with spouses to help but I told them to hold tight. I have Tim Donovan and Ashley L. Donovan here if I need them. Who Tim has asked for to see is Little T and MY puppy. Dont think I can get Pixie in to see him but I checked and they let all children visit. So tomorrow Grandpa get to see #1 grandson! (That should keep his mind off pain and surgery for a while). Ill update Tims condition after surgery. Life is so fun!
