Well its official. My singing days are over. My neuro condition - TopicsExpress

Well its official. My singing days are over. My neuro condition has finally made my vocal chords inoperable in the singing category. Miller-Fisher Syndrome strikes again. First the vision and now my vocal chords.. It has actually malformed one side of my vocal chords in a permanent curve as it were. So one side is normal and the other one curved. Which means; That them not being in alignment, makes for lousy singing or talking in some cases. Although this malformation had been propelling towards the inevitable of losing my voice for 2 years now, I didnt think the reality would be this drastic. I can sing a few tunes but then everything goes haywire and they shut down and I sound like a raspy frog or at the other end of the spectrum and squeaky little girl (lol).. Even talking for long periods in a loud voice such as I did at the Wedding this past weekend, (due to trying to be heard over the music), makes them shut down. So much so that it took 4 days for them to get back to somewhat normal.. On the bright side, Im glad I can still play my Dobro. Ill never stop playing unless my hands get any worse than they already are. Fortunately since losing the ability to play banjo, fiddle, guitar and mandolin. I was able to teach myself the Dobro. We must Endeavor To Persevere.
