Well its time for me to clean my honeysuckle yellow DCs because my sister gave me a yellow knitted bean hat for Christmas that matches my yellow DC shoes. As for X-mas cookies my sister really out did herself and made 14 different types of cookies, bars & fudge. My contribution to the cookie making effort was a fresh jar of apricot perseveres. When asked what I wanted for x-mas dinner I suggest clam stuffed mushrooms so my farther thru tougher a clam stuffed mushroom casserole that had a layer of large portabella mushrooms that where covered with a clam stuffing. The mushrooms were large & meaty and the stuffing was flavorful. The ham was very moist and flavorful so I eat 1 to many ham & roll sandwiches. I gave my farther & brother leather flapper welding gloves and a automotive type battery charger for x-mas. The welding gloves that I gave my farther last year are professional grade, tight fitting welding gloves. By way of comparison when wearing the flappers - if your hand gets really hot & starts to burn your can shack & flap the glove and it will flap off easily. My mother and sister both liked the large buttons that I picked out for them. I had planned on only purchasing 2 buttons but I picked out 4 and based on their responses the buttons match their style. My mother and sister are also tea drinkers so while shopping at Tuttle Mall I purchased my sister a tea steeper of sorts that works like a french press. Coffee from a french press is smoother and softer in texture so the texture of the tea will be different and now they can steep loose leaf tea. While at the tea shop I also purchased my mom some sugar beet rock sugar because the lady their said it had a cleaner flavor then sugar derived from maple syrup or sugar cane. I like sugar beet sugar because sugar is a high value commodity and the industry reinvested their profits back into their sugar processing plants so that they could be co-generation facilitates that produced steam, sugar & electricity. The production of sugar requires heat, also called - process heating. That heat is created by the burning of they sugar beet waste products, the heat boils water that turns into steam that is very hot. You could think of the steam as if its flowing thru pipes that are wrapped around a big pot. The heat from the steam warms the pot that cooks the sugar out of the sugar beets. Then the steam from the pipes flows back thru the boiler the furnace were the beet waste is being burned. When the steam makes its second pass thru the boiler it is reheated so its dry enough to be injected into a steam turbine. The pressure of the steam turns a steam turbine that is connected to a generator that when turned processes electricity that can be sold into the market & delivered thru electrical power lines because you cant store electricity in a barrel.
