Well lets see... I think that our politicians sold us out to corporate greed. Privatized parking meters, privatized toll booths, pretty much any income generating mechanisms for the city were sold to the campaign contributors which is now draining our citys ability to cover the pensions and support any sustainable way to maintain social services and put it on the tab of the people to pay for the actions of the greedy. They want to increase taxes on cell phones because the banksters foreclosed on most of the homes and destroyed communities. People are buying guns because they also want to increase the cost to dial 911 - people are going to take the law in their own hands now, they continue to protect the corporations that increase the cost of living while devaluing the labor force and lowering the quality of life -THEN have the gall to increase property taxes in order to generate more TIF funds for basketball stadiums and marriott hotel investments that benefit campaign contributors instead of schools. They fire teachers in order to steal their seniority and rehire them at entry level positions to pay for their bankster buddy misappropriations of funds. To help solve the pension problem ... The whole world is laughing at us. Protecting the wealthy while forcing the masses into austerity is killing prosperity and people are going to react. Not a good time to be the fat cat in a city full of hungry little mice. I think the 1% is scared. And they should be. Theyve pissed on the shoulders of the very people who made them successful. Theyve turned their backs on an ocean of able bodied, overqualified, underpaid and overworked by multiple non livable wage job participants who are tired of watching our politicians protect the very people who forced us into austerity...and the tsunami is coming.
