Well mixed emotions right now, encouraged and frustrated all at the same time. FINALLY got some results from the CT scan I had twelve days ago...not the news we wanted but not all bad either. The good news is I am responding to treatment, tumors in my liver seem to have reduced in size, and possibly in number (they wont know exactly until radiologist revises the report), and my CEAs (tumor markers) are in the 1300s ...they were over 4000 when I started treatment! So yes that is very good!! BUT they are still numerous & in all lobes of my liver, which means the targeted therapies we had hoped to switch to are not an option yet nor is surgery. Dr also does not want to remove the primary tumor in my colon yet because there is a 4-6 week recovery time before resuming chemo and since I am responding to it she doesnt want risk taking that long of a break. SOOOO its on to more chemo. UCK!!!! Like I said, not what I had hoped for, was hoping that horrible wicked stuff was behind me and we were moving on to other things ... but it is working, which is a good thing, so that is what has to be done. I will be resuming the regular chemo schedule of a 48 hour regimen every other week starting next Tuesday. Knowing this, I plan to eat everything in sight between now and then since I know I wont feel like it after next week. So if you see me somewhere & Im stuffing my face like Im in an eating contest theres no need to be alarmed .... just cheer me on!! ;)
