Well my family and friends, it has been a very long journey for my myself and my family with my son, Jareds recovery here at St Al s Hospital since June 18th, the night that changed his and our lives forever whena drunk driver hit him on his motorcycle. The accident gave Jared a severe TBI and he has gone through hell fighting his way back. He has had many brain surgeries and pelvis surgeries. He has had seizures, blood clots, he had to have a shunt put in his head,was in ICU for 6 weeks, the Neryo floor for 3months and then to sub acute rehab until now. What a ride. I have the best news to share with all of you, my amazing son is coming home tomorrow. He is coming home to heal. He will continue therapy at home until he is ready to go to out patient therapy. He has came so far in this journey, but understand, he has a severe TBI, and it will take a long time for Jared to recover. He is learning to walk again and what effort he puts into it. He is healthy and we need to keep him that way. All of his family will take shifts being with him because he cant be alone, ever. He is smart but he wears down fast. His mind gets better everyday, but he has a disability and we dont know how far his progress will go. We were given no hope, he lived, Jared is alive, he made the choice to stay and he has amazed all who have been with him through these 7 months with him. Has this been hard, its been the hardest thing a mother can ever do, to watch her son, her baby fight to live, then fight to recover, and then fight for his life back. I have aged, I feel old. But everyday day has been a blessing, because my son knows me, when he looks at me and says hi mom, or tells me Im the best mom in the world and the biggie, I love you mom, I know that I am the luckiest mom in the world, Hes alive and happy. His wife, my daughter in law is just the most wonderful wife. I am so blessed she is my sons wife. They way she has never given up on him, the way she takes care of him,and the way she loves him blows my mind, it would yours too. Tammi I love you, I am so proud of who you are, thank you for loving my boy unconditionally. My sons boys, Brody and Brenan , your father raised such nice young men, and has always been so proud of you both, I know how much you miss him, hes coming back to you tomorrow. I am so proud of you both, grandma loves you, I know the hell youve been through. My daughters who have been at the hospital helping and taking care of their brother, Im so proud of you and love you so. What amazing women you are. To the rest of the family who have been there as care givers, thank you, thank you, your the best. To his buddies, Joe, Jack, Jerrod and Tanya, thank you for giving your time to set with him and make his recovery more pleasant. To the friends who havent forgotten him and been there for him, thank you for loving my boy. To all of my family and friends who have sent prayers, energies and love to Jared and all of his family, there arent enough words to thank you for your thoughtfulness and giving your time to do so. Thank you. To my son, your the strongest man I have ever met, I am so thankful you were given to me and that I am your momma. I will keep fighting for you till I breathe my last breath. I love you!!!!!
