Well my first film of 2015 has to be horror........... THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH – Directed by Tom Harper This is the sequel to The Woman in Black which had starred Daniel Radcliffe in what was a tame Ghost story. This time, the cruel ghost in The Woman in Black is back but now the setting is in the 1940s where it is World War II and evacuee children are sent off to the spooky Eel Marsh House to escape the bombings. The story involves the pleasure this Ghost likes to get hold of the childrens minds and is able to make the children do their own killing of themselves rather than her direct doing. This is probably why it got the 15 Rating as it shows children committing their own suicide. There are very darks scenes where you know something is going to happen then the odd big loud noise to try and make you jump – not me! There really could have been more use of the Woman in Black Ghost who I found not that menacing. It was a good idea to give a different setting it being World War II but I felt it needed to be more intense about this Ghost. So I walked out feeling, yet again, disappointed. It is an OK Ghost story film but not really one you will remember too much.
