Well, no one challenged me, but after reading everyone elses top - TopicsExpress

Well, no one challenged me, but after reading everyone elses top 10 book lists, I was feeling left out. So here are mine, in no particular order: 1. The Killer Angels - Michael Shaara 2. A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens 3. Casino Royale - Ian Fleming 4. Gorky Park - Martin Cruz Smith 5. Lincoln - Gore Vidal 6. A Canticle for Leibowitz - Walter M. Miller, Jr. 7. Stand on Zanzibar - John Brunner 8. PrairyErth - William Least Heat-Moon 9. To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee 10. A Wrinkle In Time - Madeleine LEngle I did base this list on books that have stayed with me, even if I only read them once. I noticed there is only one non-fiction (PrairyErth), although three are historical fiction. There are no biographies, although I love the genre. There are three SF books, but none by the more well-known masters (Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, etc.). And only one James Bond book, because when youve read one Ian Fleming novel, youve read them all. But the first is always the best. Finally, theres a boatload of authors that I read all the time, but didnt list. They are great escapes, but theyre not necessarily great, if you know what I mean.
