Well, now for the updates. Good news, the sky has cleared, the water has receded, street sweeper cleaning the street now. Ive hosed down the driveway and washed away all the muck and got my concrete clear along with as many stepping stones going into my backyard as have surfaced. The rest Ill wash off later as the water continues to soak into the ground. The Escape, minimal floorboard water build-up and the drive-train seems fine. The Maxima, my daughters car, unfortunately didnt fare so well. Full interior floorboard is soaked and got high enough that the seats started soaking up water so there might be some interior damage there, namely the seat motors, possibly the base upholstery and the front door speakers. But the serious part is the motor. Checked the oil and transmission fluids and they didnt show any serious water encroachment, but when I started it to blow the water out of the exhaust and checked the oil again, it was milky and full of water so it turns out I do have water in the engine. It did start up and run which is a positive but I had to close it down right away before the water got too much all over the inside of it. Ill have to check and see to what extent, but I think with a simple engine flush and plug replacement it will be ok. Now to try to find money for that...
