Well, now that we got good news, I can report what a day we had.. Of course I already mentioned the terrible seizure Tom had this morning at Emory. Well, they decided to do a CAT Scan on his brain to check for any tumors or anything that could cause his nausea. The dr came in the room and from the look in her face, I knew the news wasnt good. She explained the results were inconclusive, but it looked as if he had a blood clot on his brain. They decided to rush him into an MRI on his brain. After the MRI, we were admitted onto the transplant floor where we normally go when inpatient. I had made several calls crying my eyes out to friends of ours, and my brother in law Bill, to tell them the news. When Tom was wheeled back into the room, he asked me what it was the dr wS talking to me about, and I had to tell him. We cried together, and I explained that whether or not there was a clot, we were in the right place, and theyd do what needed to be done, to make sure he was taken care of. The main issue we both had: How do we break the news to Alyssa?? She has enough on her plate to worry about as it is! I kept asking the nurses and drs to see what the results of the MRI were, and finally the PA came in an hour ago and says...All clear!! Thank you, Jesus!!! Of course now we wonder (as Tom is sick vomiting as I type this)... What is causing this pain and nausea?? The PA have us a great idea, to list every time Toms been in a hospital... So I added it up. Just from July 18, 2013, hes been in a hospital 89 times. 89??!! Ridiculous. And his quality of life is....? That is what our family has been through. And thats not counting the days and nights hes been sick at home and we didnt take him to an ER. I know we will be praying bigtime tonight, that our talk with the Transplant Team in the morning doll help them to see even though his MELD Score isnt showing it, he is one sick fella. I could be more thankful to God, and our friends and family for being here for us through this. Its not easy to have a close relationship with people who are going through a tough time like this, but you guys continue to stick around! Love you!!
