Well peeps, its the last day of 2014, and it sorta looks like I may live until 2015. Granted, a lot of very painful things can happen during a 13 hour time-span, but Im fairly confident I can make it. Knock on wood... This year brought some tears, but much more laughter. It brought some new and wonderful friends, and some personal growth on my part. Not like a ton or anything lol, I cant handle that much growth at one time, but Im able to appreciate the clarity that can come after 4+ decades of observation and participation in others lives to the betterment of my own. I will never achieve the pinnacle of personal growth I see and admire in some others, but I remain inspired by messages of love and peace regardless of some of the darker aspects of life, from losing loved ones, to depression and anxiety, from standing up for what I feel is right in the face of mockery to standing up for another person when they are being kicked while down. I just want to give everyone a fair chance to prove their own humanity and compassion, to sort out those that are incapable of even trying and are then a huge anchor around all of our necks. The actions of a very few can make the very many look like terrible people...protestors and police come to mind...terrorism...a lying government...and America the Greedy. I prefer the currency of kindness over ruthless authoritarianism as sponsored by corporate Congress, but Im aware that most people do NOT share these ideals. I will love the cruelest human in spite of themselves, although I wont be spending my time and my energy trying to change their minds. A person can only change the way they themselves perceive their environment, and all I can do is try and support that willingness to change, offer some comfort, and the shared knowledge of how deeply personal angst and anxiety can skew even the simplest of emotional responses. I do what I can, as I can, and that has to be good enough... Im hoping like hell I can write that book, or at least compile stories from my now-dead blog and maybe some of the crap I post on here lol. At the very least, I can submit some work to a few magazines with the hope that theyre entertained as much as my friends are when Im in full-on story mode and willing to say pretty much anything to get a grin, even better is to get a belly-laugh of appreciation. :)...hey, it could happen... Happy New Year to all my friends and family, please be safe tonight, I dont want to log on in the next few days and find that any of you WERENT careful...if youre going to drink (and most of you are!) stay out from behind the wheel, take a cab, get a buddy to drive you home. Do NOT make me come and find you!! lol Take care everybody, and have a day. :D
