Well, some of you may have heard my stories of childhood yore!! Maybe you thought it was the stuff of myth and legend......??? That my Dad taught the Beatles! well Paul and George.....he particularly remembered Paul as he lived around the corner from us in Liverpool and my Dad used to give him a lift to school!! This was quite the thing in the 1950s a school teacher with a car!! Fact was he was running a tipster service on the side ( horse racing tips) he was so successful that he could afford a car. Later he left teaching and opened betting shops and became a bookie!! However, I do digress! Dad was the Classics master at the Liverpool Institute a rather academic grammar school in Liverpool. Paul was one of his students. Last week my sister Sarah was at a dinner party and sat next to Pauls cousin ( this is the second time she has met her) they had talked previously about our family connection to Paul. She told Sarah that she had mentioned my Dad to Paul and that he remembered him well and indeed fondly....in fact he is mentioned in some of the Beatles biographical texts......Apparently Paul loves this sort of 3 degree of separation stuff!! So what fun!! Sarah is on a search to find the information.....will keep you posted........
