Well, sometimes, the cards r dealt & thats wotcha get unfortunately, & I gotta say, Ive had the worst hand ever this year! Ive just learnt today of the passing of a great friend of mine whos not been well for the past two years. My thoughts are with the family of Sid Panter, who lost his fight with the C word. Jackie & her daughters Susan & Kerry, among other family members, will remember Sid as a husband & father & grandfather......& true gentleman in every manner of the word. I first met Sid back in 1978 when I played for Surbiton Town FC & we stayed friends since those halcyon days when we took the local football scene by storm! Sid came with me to Hook United FC when we got Sacked by manager Brian Cook for being 30 &, along with Mick Foxy Glassett & Brian Bugsy Reilly, we succeeded in promoting the young team from the Kingston & District League to the Surrey Combination & greater things..... I had the pleasure of Sid & Jackies company back on May 4th this year when they attended the occasion of my wife Janice & is 40th wedding anniversary, ironically at Surbiton Town & it was great to see my friend enjoying himself, then just a couple of weeks ago, I visited the family at their home for a cuppa with Sid & we recalled those halcyon days. We sure had some fun eh Sid? Sid, You will be sadly missed by your family & the many many friends who had the pleasure to have met & known you, I for one have lost a dear dear friend. God Bless You & Keep You, R.I.P.x Below are two pics with Sid in the colours of Surbiton Town FC, back row 2nd from left (with the Michael Bolton hair) in 1978 in the first photo, then back row 3rd from left (with the short back & sides) in the 2nd photo......
