Well, spent a good part of the day reading The Ship out aloud - TopicsExpress

Well, spent a good part of the day reading The Ship out aloud alongside my editor. Were over a third of the way through the book and have been making a lot of corrections. Id been told in the past to read a completed draft out loud to see how it sounds, but Id felt silly about doing it. Now Im seeing how important and useful it really can be. What sounded good inside your head, does NOT sound the same when you read it out loud. Been finding missing words, commas, and even thoughts or ideas that had not been fully fleshed out. Im really hoping this one will be in much better shape than The Bridge when I release it. If all goes well, Ill be unleashing the fourth draft on some beta-readers at the end of this month. Ill be giving them until the end of April to finish and give me feedback. From there, the plan is to do final revising and get the book ready for release by Memorial Day Weekend. For those wondering why that weekend, Ill be attending Baycon (a sci-fi, horror, fantasy convention) in Santa Clara, where Im planning to unveil the book. It will be available for Kindle, Nook, Apple, and other e-readers that weekend as well. So heres hoping I manage to pull it off and do a good job.
