Well that classifies as a weird movie, & not in the good way. Unman, Wittering, & Zigo (UK 1971) is based on Giles Coopers play, which is part of the GCSE syllabus apparently. Given that it concerns unruly, murdering pupils at a public school Im sure it wont be for much longer. It was confused on the point it was trying to make, left out the key line from the play Authority is a necessary evil, and every bit as evil as it is necessary. Which may have gone some way to explaining its point of view. It came off as a cash in on the controversy surrounding Straw Dogs. Its like a cross between Straw Dogs & If.... only without the level of skill achieved by either. I hope the play doesnt stretch the bounds of credulity that the movie does, although admittedly they are both from a different time with different views, it does appear to be excusing corporal punishment. I only watched it for David Hemmings, he was good.
