Well, that was a little bit of morning excitement. I was walking Lily and was facing the sun (so, not great visibility, even with sunglasses), when she starting doing her happy bark and pulling me toward what I thought was another dog. Upon closer inspection, no dog: a coyote! (And, a beautiful one, I might add.) I immediately scooped Lily up and walked backwards down the street. I was two blocks away, when I turned to see her staring at us again. I walked a few more blocks, and she was again, there at the next corner watching us. Finally, someone in an SUV drove up and started honking at her and taking her picture with his cell. (Thank god for stupid.) Anyway, I carried Lily 6 blocks home. Looks like the city is working on the wash drainage ... she probably was chased out. But, damn... that was a strange feeling, being pursued by wildlife downtown.
