Well that was a weekend from hell. I apologise in advance for the rather long post, but wound-up is an understatement. Firstly, many thanks to Cerith Edwards & his 2 friends for getting 2 of my ponies off the common - we could never have done it. On the bright side, had a few hours off-roading over Garth mountain in pursuit of Exmoors & Shetlands, with Maureen Richardson and Mandy Green, Huw & Paul. I want a car sticker saying I survived the lunar landscape of Garth (it is covered in anthills). Thanks to Joseph Oconnor and his fab retired sheepdog (or, in this case ponydog, so adept for her age at dodging flying hooves! Her rounding up skills were impressive. To the Commoners Committee (not Caegurwen & Penllerfedwen) who decided that it was a good time to round up all ponies on the hill, when some are heavily pregnant - giving 4 days notice and not even bothering to send letters to some commoners - you need 1) to get your act together & 2) your heads examining. To Trading Standards, who, after I had taken the day off work to deal with this debacle, couldnt even be bothered to return my call - some lessons in common (if youll excuse the pun) courtesy wouldnt go amiss. Unfortunately, there is a herd of 8 ponies, one of which is mine, still somewhere either on Caegurwen or Gwrhyd mountain. They do not know where the boundary is, and neither do I. Ive cut his forelock & his tail & hes had my initial spray painted in silver on his nicely rounded bottom ( an improvement on the pink lipstick initial from yesterday, anyway!). He has lived out there, very happily for just short of 7 years, with his little herd of mares. In all that time, I have never seen him looking anything other than very well. Please leave him & his friends alone!!!
