Well that was an exciting trip to the VA today. First I had an appointment for a nuc stress test at 8:30 this morning as part of my transplant work up followed by a follow up with my primary. I was anxious to see my primary as last week I had a CT scan to find out if a mass in my transplanted kidney has grown any in the last couple of years. So the letter I got said it had and that it could be attributable to renal carcinoma. Of course right away, my mind raced to the possible conclusions including a bout of cancer. As if diabetes and kidney failure wasnt enough of a challenge. So now its up in the air as he said he felt in his judgement that it wasnt, but could be wrong. Definitive answers either way will come from an upcoming outsourced appointment with a urologist. Oh, and just to make things a bit more interesting for me he said he thinks I have carpal tunnel and could require surgery. All of this is really beginning to wear me down. Been dealing with doctors and surgeons since I was 28. Its starting to get seriously old. My spirits will always be what they are because Im one of those freaks who face adversity by saying, Shit. Ok, what do we need to do? Fear? Oh theres fear, but panic is one of those things I reserve for long drives and gas station sushi, not having a watch on, or feeling helpless that Im not pulling my weight.
