Well that was the worst weekend I have ever had!!!! Everything - TopicsExpress

Well that was the worst weekend I have ever had!!!! Everything was good in my first session on Friday at Rowrah, I love the track and my times were up there with the big boys in the BKC. However in the second session I was about to overtake a couple of karts when someone spun ahead, the karts around me managed to go round the spinner, but I had nowhere to go and we crashed. Me and my kart catapulted in the air and I hit the Tarmac again with a thud! The engine was still running so I set off but something was wrong, I had no steering :-(. I stopped on track and Dad came over and told me to go in. Mum took me to the medical centre to make sure I was ok, (which I was). My kart however was/is as bent as a banana, luckily we had a spare (thank you Kevin Arnold) so I could get back out there. Unfortunately that is where it all went wrong, we found ourselves down on power and without any chance of competing with the top boys and girls. I qualified 17th so I had made the top 20 permitted to race. There were actually 21 cars on the grid due to a very bad decision! The race started and I made a great start getting up to p12 and chasing with the pack until the 21st car allowed to race punted me off the track on a straight!!!! I was beached and whoever should have been in Marshall post 5 wasnt so I was left there for what seemed like forever! I now had no chance of catching the pack let alone overtaking anyone! I was so angry and so was mum and dad!! I finished way down in p19 :-( So we packed up and did the 4 hour drive to tattershall, getting there very late last night (thanks to Dad and Craig) session 1 was good I finished p2 behind my team mate Taylor. Session 2 I was p4 and session 3 I was p3. This put me 2nd on the grid for the final The weather was terrible all day but as we lined up it started raining hard! I got a great start and led the first 8 laps, I had built up a really good lead when all of a sudden I started to loose power! Half a lap later my engine died. Dad got me going again but I had nothing, I ended the race in P6. Not a great feeling that I came home without a trophy, but I just need to keep adding points to my championship title :-) So, my chassis has to go to the Doctor this week, but I will still be at Whilton on Wednesday, then we are having a few weeks off to recharge our batteries. I would like to say well done to Taylor for getting P2 today. Massive thank you to my Dad for being a great mechanic, Craig for being a great number 2 mechanic and Kevin Arnold for being such a top bloke. Also a big thank you to all my friends here on my page, your support means a lot to me. Im off to bed now, Im exhausted :-) Night night x
