Well that was what we call a season ender at least for parts of the north state. Rainfall totals ran as high as almost 2 inches in one location and around an inch or more in many others. However, some areas got very little rain. The wildland fire services had already begun down-staffing in parts of the far north and most of the aircraft north of Sacramento has already either been parked for the winter (winter maintenance) or in SoCal. This is excepted to continue to expand across the rest of the north state. Burn bans have been lifted for most of the state north of Sierra County in the Sierras and north of Santa Clara county in the coastal hills. I expect to see the bans lifted in the NEU (Nevada, Yuba, Placer) and AEU (Amador, El Dorado, Alpine) Cal Fire units shortly. As of 9am it was still a no burn day in both units and Sierra county. The weather is for a dry week and long range is showing no rain so things can dry out and make burning risky so even when the ban is lifted, make sure to have proper clearances, tools and stat in attendance of your pile.
