Well, that whole iPhone preorder process was a debacle and a half, - TopicsExpress

Well, that whole iPhone preorder process was a debacle and a half, but its done. After a couple of hours of refreshing late last night, I was finally able to secure a 128gig gold iPhone 6 Plus. Dying to get my hands on it as fast as possible, and the quickest option was in store pickup on launch day. Was hoping to avoid the chaos, since in years past Ive opted for have it shipped. Earliest it would get to me in the mail would be early October. Am I nuts? YEP. All this for a phone? YEP. For features that have been on Android for several years? YEP. Did I pay waaaaay too much to have the latest gadget? YEP THEY CHARGE WAAAAAAY TOO MUCH. NO REGRETS. Gonna sell my Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which has served me well. Took me a little getting used to with Android, but overall its been a fun ride. Gazelle is a GREAT service that buys back your old used electronics....and for the Note 3, I can snag $200. So after the fact, Ill get a sort of rebate for the new phone. Android has its quirks and perks, just like iOS, but I am simply used to the iOS infrastructure. Ill miss the customizability, especially the ability to simply download a song/ringtone/etc and assign without having to sync the damn thing to the desktop. Ill miss the back button (to return to the previous screen), as that is what I immediately loved. Also animated wallpapers and widgets. But overall, Ive always been happy with Apple. I am a proud Beats Music subscriber so Ive been able to circumvent the iTunes madness for my tunes. The 6 Plus gives me the screen size Ive craved. Its slightly smaller than the Note 3, but I can deal. Just cant go back to the original iPhone screen. The 6 model is still too small for me. I got big, stubby fingers, and Ive been instantly spoiled by a phablet screen. Of course, you guys are welcome to chime in, but for the love of Groot, dont let this devolve into Android pwns and Apple sucks debates. You prefer what you prefer, it doesnt make you better/cooler. Plenty of people have had nightmare experiences going from one to the other/back etc, so I get it, your mileage will vary. Arguing about smartphones is just as pointless as arguing religion or politics. Keep it friendly please. Thanks!
