Well thats the hay all baled and just being wrapped. For the last - TopicsExpress

Well thats the hay all baled and just being wrapped. For the last three years we have made big bale hay and wrapped it, instead of big bale haylage. For my Iberians, hay made not too early is better, and this year with having such wonderful dry weather and a lovely breeze it couldnt have been better conditions! I dont know how many bales yet, Malcolm our neighbour and contractor does it all for us, but looks to be a better crop than I was expecting as the rain didnt come when we needed it. But to not have to worry about the weather turning to rain whilst making the hay, it has been a real treat! And for Faiel after gelding the first few days were just as we needed it, cool and breezy, but the breeze has been quite strong blowing the flies away even with the heat. The perfect summer weather!! His swelling is minimal now and he is healing very well. We have been able to keep the wounds very clean and with the barns and corral he has been on the move a lot without going crazy. Just looking forward to getting him out in a paddock once he is fully healed, so that he can enjoy some grass!
