Well the ESPN crew just pulled out after being here for five days. What an experience.. Yet they are far from done. They will join us in February when Jack goes to see Chris Paul again. Then they will come back in March or April to interview Jack. It became very clear after their interviews with Coach Haller, Gram, Meghan, Sean, JP and Johnny Pulice, that they are truly going deep into our lives and history. They got Sean and Meghan to open up about our lives like I have never heard them talk before. While we have had so many life obstacles that they may feature, at the end of the day I felt like they see our story as the ultimate Sports and Family Love story. They were blown away by our community. At one point as Jack and Duffy and all their friends were cruising into the house the producer said, Please dont have them do anything that they dont normally do. If they are not always together, they dont have to stay together just because ESPN is here. I told him, no, they always are always together, in fact ESPN is gone, yet they are still sleeping over because there is no school tomorrow. About the McDowell Prep game… They said it was th ebest high school sports atmosphere they have ever seen. One member of the crew said does this community understand how lucky they are to have such a great rivalry between two schools. Then he said, this does not happen in other places around the country. Because alot of our story we talk about our sunsets at Presque Isle State Park, PA, well they decided to camp out one eevening at hte beach and see for themselves. They happened to pick a night where the sky lit up like the fourth of July.Bill, there number one Cameraman, said That may have been the most beautiful sunset I have ever recorded. then he took out his camera just to show me.. I felt bad telling him it was nice but I have seen better.. LOL Now to tie our family our town into a superstar athlete who lives 3000 miles away is amazing, but truly makes sense. You see Chris Paul is an NBA leader in assist and we have a community that has been assisting us for the past few years. Our town has helped us through our darklest days and never left our side. Now we have CP3, the LA Clippers and the NBA taking our hands and opening our eyes to how special LIFE truly is. I would never wish our lives on anyone yet I so wish you could all feel how special we feel to have so many amazing things happen to our kids. When the ESPN E:60 airs around mothers day I hope and pray for a few things, 1. That you all can see how much my children loved their mom and how much she really loved them, 2. That Chris Paul and the LA Clippers understand how what he did for Jack was an act of kindness that will remain a special part of our lives for as long as we live. and 3. That everyone who sees this E:60 will think, WOW, How awesome is Erie, PA. What a beautiful place to live, and how special are those people who call Erie home.! If all these points are made people wont say, oh that poor family who had to overcome so much instead they will say OMG how lucky is that family to have so many great people in their lives. As the crew packed up and headed out of town my kids and I, gave each of them a box of Chocolate Covered Steffanellis Strawberries, to bring home ot their wives. So when they walk in their homes and their wives say how was Erie, PA they can say it was so awesome that the folks in Erie sent you these amazing treats! Finally I hope much of the amazing video they captured makes the show. especially the video of our town and the Pennisula. If they do end up using the video they captured at Walnut Creek Wildcats, school you will be blown away! Thank you to our great friends and our school for making ESPN feel so welcome for the Past five days!!!!
