Well... the Jamboree in the HIlls Facebook admin has proven my point beyond any words that I could convey by removing my original post and blocking me from their site! So anyone who read, liked, commented or shared my earlier comment has been removed as well. I guess the truth hurts when it is in black and white. I had so many comments from dissatisfied customers not only about the parking but all the other changes that has party-goers and vendors alike running in circles, waiting in lines, etc. Thank you to all for all of your support. Im interested to see if my post gets reported - it doesnt break any of FB rules but I guess telling the truth is harassment or spam or something! :) So, at the request of many of my friends, colleagues and even some new friends here is my original post.... OK...Jamboree in the Hills friends get ready to take the rape of your life when you show up at Jambo this year. Even though the website says you can get your tickets and wristband from 8-8 today - dont show up unless you are ready to pay for parking! Its only $10 but its the principal of the issue that I am complaining about! I have never had to pay for parking to get my wristband or even to go get my spot. The parking folks were told no one could come through the gate this year without a parking, service or vendor tag because in the past people would come in early then stay in the parking lot all day - ok tow those people instead of punishing the masses! Or give the parking crew the ability to make a judgment call. I was told I could walk in from the main road or pay for parking. Wouldnt I look great when I got to work in my dress clothes after making the mile hike in to get my band then back out to my car? And wouldnt my feet be happy in 3.5 inch heels. Someone needs to use some common sense instead of being a money hungry, greedy SOB!!! The JITHs website should say if you wait until Thursday - you must pay for parking or walk if you want to get your wristband early; I could have at least prepared. You encourage people to get their wristbands early in all your advertisements but reduce the hours and location of offsite banding. Is this yet another attempt to make money by forcing people to walk a mile or pay $10? Additionally, I learned that JITH has paid the parking crew organization the same even though they have raised the price of general parking. The money they collect on Thursday more than pays the amount they receive for their group. Isnt this a youth group organization? Shame on you JITHs. So in addition, to making irrational blanket decisions and not thinking about the variety of people that attend this venue, JITHs as an organization could care less about the people who make this event a success; they only want your money. Think about it... they keep all the general parking fees for Friday, Saturday and Sunday ($10 per car x # cars in general parking x 3 days; they say the venue is attended by over 55,000 people each year! You do the math!) Where is all that money going? It sure isnt being used for talent!! Oh, thats right, they bought some new row/designation flags. The talent pool at JITHs has continued to decline. There are a lot of up and coming stars and a few good acts but overall the lineup isnt nearly what it used to be. The costs for bands have risen to $175 early bird or $235 at the gate. Multiply that times the 55,000 people they quote as well. I know it cost money for the acts, security, etc. but they are collecting ticket money, sponsors who pay big bucks, vendors, parking, souvenirs, etc. But they really needed my $10 for parking .. I am embarrassed for prominent organizations such as Bordas & Bordas Attorneys, PLLC, Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration, Fans of WTOV-TV, 98.7 Country WOVK, Gumbys Cigarette World, Trinity Health System, Pepsi Republic Services, First Choice America Community Federal Credit Union, Go RVing West Virginia Business College, Em-Media, Inc., 24/7 e-cigs and many more!!
