Well, the UK hockey season has barely started and already the EIHLs (in)disciplinary committee - oh, sorry, now its The Department Of Player Safety! - has screwed the pooch big-style. A hard (legal? illegal?) hit by Edinburghs Emmerson on Belfasts Kevin Philips wasnt caught on tape, yet the D.O.P(e).S have given him a 10-match ban! You effing what?? A massive ban for something that you havent even seen, that the bloody REF didnt even see! (called by a linesman, apparently). Whisky Tango Foxtrot? One of the reasons for the ban was Philips being diagnosed with concussion... yet he was on the ice again tonight. NOBODY with a concussion should be playing only 5 days later. So either Belfast are criminally negligent or (far more likely) the concussion thing is bogus. Congratulations EIHL... youve been even quicker than previous seasons to show that youre a total bunch of twats.
