Well the day has come, Hayley Ann gets to come home, perfect timing for a Christmas at home. Its been over 12 months since that horrible day where complications after what should of been routine surgery put Hayley in intensive care. Last Christmas we didnt think we would make it. What a difference a year makes. Still a long journey ahead for recovery and Hayley has had life changing complications but she remains the strongest person Ive ever encountered. Im proud to call her my daughter and she has made me realise how insignificant my bad days really are. When I think back over the last year I still cry. Those horrific early days in a coma. All the bad news we received, like being told we need to think about turning life support off, well sorry but our faith in Hayley refused to allow that. all the family gathered round the bed in intensive care to have a blessing as she shouldnt of made it through the night. Being told if she did wake up she would likely be severely brain damaged as they had never seen a case of brain swelling this bad then Hayley makes a full recovery from it with no lasting damage. And now we get to bring her home. Love you Hayley and looking forward to Christmas like no other.
