Well the day is finally here....Tomorrow, 11/10/13 is the final time I will see Michael march with the Deer Park HS Marching Band. I can say in these four years I have seen my son go from a timid unsure freshman to the finished senior marcher I see now that glides across the field. I can also say that there will probably always be a part of my heart that still searches the field looking for him in black and red and hoping to find him and his saxyphone out there amongst the Wildcat band....It seems like yesterday he was in fifth grade telling me he wanted to join band...I can promise you this...I love the Wildcat band to the depths of my soul but the only person I will be watching tomorrow is Michael...I think that is fair and appropriate...To my son I say--Youve got a way about you(Billy Joel freshmen year), and I wish there would be an Encore(Encore sophomore year)of your marching band years but it is time to JET(Paul McCartney-junior year)out of DP and on to your future and I say as your parent HOOAH!(senior show) to your HS band years and to your future endeavors! I love you...way up to the moon and back.....
