Well, the doc said we had good news and not so good news. He said Moms heart muscle was good. He said it was stiff and the reason is because she has hardening of the arteries. The disease is in both carotid arteries and is affecting her brain as well. She has a lesion of indeterminate severity within her proximal LAD (whatever that is) and her diabetes is not under control and he told her that she must get that under control or else in her future there will a heart attach. He prescribed a statin medicine, not for cholesterol but as a heart medicine. I believe its Lipitor and also he put her on an 81mg. aspirin regime daily. She has to have a tilt table test. This test is a more detailed test that takes 3 hours and this will determine what that lesion is. He said if it comes back as not being a blockage that he will give her the ok to have the hernia operation. However, if it comes back as a blockage then she will have to have a procedure where they go in and clear the blockage. So, there is work to be done on Mommys part. Watching her sugar intake and her diet and also getting some exercise but not overdoing anything. We are waiting to hear when this tilt table test will be run.
