Well, the fever of celebration is in the air and everyone is celebrating in their own ways to say good by to 2014 to go down memory lane and welcoming 2015. I moved back home to Wewak, end of September 2011. I was home in my home village, Boikin, west coast of Wewak. Whilst home I celebrated new year and I came to notice some new way of celebrating to the common traditional style. And the new style I noticed was only done in Port Moresby at special locations. However, my people of East Sepik were superb. There were fire works displace to welcome 2012. Capitalizing on that, street sellers made huge non taxed income from the fire crackers purchased from across PNG-Indonesian board. The fire crackers were used or fired starting June 2012. It was a worry amongst minority as law enforcers did little or nothing to the illegal use of those fire crackers. That was 2012 going 2013. 2013 going 2014 was more powerful and superb in the celebrations. Well, what are going to experience and witness five(5) hours away will surely 100% light up the whole province of East Sepik. I am enjoying my red label and beer with my big sister and brother in law but I am looking beyond some five-ten years as to what might some possible effects either good or bad. My concern is the danger that may associate with the purchase and use of these fire crackers. I really dont know if the Government of Papua New Guinea is aware of the illegal purchase and use of these fire crackers!!!!! I pray and hope that, Sepiks will not morn the same as they were and will celebrate five hours away......
