Well the first debate has come and gone, and the result was a nil all draw. Both were nervous, neither said anything of substance, both waffled, neither came out with anything substantive. Most importantly, neither gave any idea as to what policies they might pursue to help the economy in the change from the resources boom to normal times. In regard to body language, Kevin Rudd was slightly more positive. The bottom line? This is not good enough. Both leaders need to clearly enunciate policies that the people can evaluate. Lets hope for something better in the next debate.
