Well, the good news is that we are ALMOST on top of things. The bad news is that the gap is going to get some dogs killed. We have four lovely dogs (though a couple are not without issues) with whom we have to do something or they are toast (or else another dog is). 1) Leo. Hes one of four dogs who were dogs in multiple ownership before the council were called in to put them down. Dineke has hastily stuffed them in where she can, and Leo has gone to a friend of mine. But a) the other male dog hates him and is bullying him and there will be a really lethal fight soon (Leo is much bigger than Bobby) and b) said friend will be off home to the UK soon enough and them we are stuffed. Ive got to know Leo quite well, hes super. A really nice dog, hed make a great pet, hes terribly friendly and grateful and a pleasure to have around. Despite being a street dog hes fitted perfectly into domestic life. Hes about two, and a dote. Hes a street dog, so is not trained (though he has worked out for himself to go outside to perform), but otherwise I cant think of a bad word to say about him. I love street dogs, they make the best pets, they know which side their damn bread is buttered. Leos being cat tested this afternoon. 2) Alex. Much like Leo, but he bullies Leo a bit, so we had to put one back on the street and Alex got the short straw. The council will be along to kill him shortly. 3) Bobby. Really nice middle aged dog who just wants to sit on your lap. Very affectionate and loyal, only flaws, marks if there are other animals about, does not like cats, good with other dogs, but not if they are male and suddenly dumped in his house (picking on poor Leo). He was spotted making his way East from the West coast, probably stolen by gypsies and escaped. Very sad dog at first, but has settled well with his foster now and is a happy, friendly little chap. Loved Penny, who has now gone to the UK. His foster will leave Portugal soon and then Bobby will be for it. 4) Tommy. This ones due to be put down - he goes for other male dogs (which to me is a non problem, muzzle in public) and has leish (cheap pill a day, well controlled). Its a shame, hes a really nice dog we found starving, days from death, on the street, and has now been brought up to be a really healthy, sweet, loving dog. But hes not perfect and his imperfections look like being literally the death of him, very soon. If I could shift Bobby and Leo Id have a space for Tommy... As it is, I fear none of this will end well. The beige dog is Alex, the blond one Leo, the brown one Bobby, and the black one Tommy. Soon all of these could be dead and their names wont matter any more. Please give one a home (you have every type to choose from) or at least share :-( All are of course ready to ship, being neutered, vaccinated, chipped, passported etc.
