Well the last 2 days were supposed to be boring transit days - TopicsExpress

Well the last 2 days were supposed to be boring transit days through Zambia covering big kms. Well boring they werent surprise, surprise. Adventure seems to follow me as much as I follow it. So first of all we were trying to nurse our truck through this passage until we next had a pause to do some work on the gear box but of course we lost all gears right in the middle of a round about right in the middle of the capital of Zambia, Lusaka. After playing traffic director and apprentice mechanic for an hour we were on our way again. Then a couple of hours later we got bogged in muddy roadworks at our lunch spot meaning the tracks we carry were called into action to get us out. Then the following day we lost an hour having a friendly negotiation with the Malawi police over paperwork formalities which is par for the course. Then finally while already running late on of the guys slammed his finger in one of the windows while we were driving and sliced the top of his finger off. Ironically I was at the time digging through the medical kit to get something for my finger which is also injured but was ready to roll to hygienically stop the bleeding and take care of his piece of finger. Plans for the day changed as we got him to a hospital to have surgery and I was put in charge of the rest of the group while the leader Vee stayed at the hospital. He has his finger back together and we are back on the road. Oh and to please the muslims we also have a couple of extra passengers on board. Billy the goat and 2 chickens who will make halaal dinner on the spit tonight as we finally reach lake Malawi. I always said I never want training trips to be easy and am loving it, but if the 2 most boring days were like that imagine if things get really interesting!!!
