Well the painkillers Biofreeze and sheer bloodymindedness aling with determination in abundance seemed to work following a poor week struggling with all the aches pains niggles and basically totally trashed legs only mustering 19miles for the week LordOfTheStreak got through the weekend in satisfactory fashion. Decent parkrun performance yesterday, despite aforementioned and gale force winds with 21st position in 22:34. This morning representing CrookAC at the ever popular Durham Cathedral Relays having decided to run on the doorstep in favour of the enjoyable Stockton Trails, a difficult decision. The usual nerves etc especially been 1st leg runner of what was supposed to be a 3 man team (more of that later) setting off at the back of the pack I worked my way through pink gloved fists pumping leopard spikes clad feet skipping over grass and mud up and down and around the 2lap course gaining valuable ground and points for my team handing over to my 2nd leg teamate with a satifying run Im sure he did the same gave his all only to find no one to hand over to. 3rd leg runner was a no show disappointed is an understatement especially as our team will be shown as a DQ in official results. However on a personal note I was delighted with my form and 12:32 time for the 1.88mile xc course and great to see so many North East teams support this traditional event and loved as always cheering on the girls in the ladies event, so many fabulous performances and everyone a winner in the own right with running itself been the true Champion
