Well the summer holidays are coming to an end. But it has been a great time for all the baseline battlers, Dale Sutherland had a tough time in the singles, played really well however came up against strong and inform players, however made up for it in doubles with Gavin McCoy making the semifinals at Glen Iris and quarters at Rye. Gavin in his singles raced through his first 2 matches in qualifying in Rye before losing a tough one next round. Heath Dufty-Miller did a fantastic job in Rye, playing some very high level tennis. After getting through his first match, lost a nail biter to his seeded opponent in qualifying. Could see some big improvements in his game throughout the week. Heath and Benjamin Augustus combined to lose a very entertaining doubles match to a very experienced duo. Chantel Marie Collins who hasnt played many tournaments did great by placing 2nd in B grade singles. Junior Aidan Tanner played the 13 & under singles and competed very well in only his 3rd tournament. Throughout the tournament in Rye we trained hard after our matches to strengthen our bodies for future endeavours. This type of training will continue:)
