Well the third very special horses story , yet again Im afraid the comfort ends here but if you dare to read on you will get an insight into the type of cruelty Sharon has to deal with on a regular basis and a sense of why this work and being Their Voice is so very important. Meet Florabella everyone , Florabella was one of three horses rescued including Spirit from the same place. Florabella is only 2 in the pictures and of the three she was the one Sharon really believed was going to make it . Just a combination of good food, TLC and trust building would surely see this little girl soon in a new forever home . It was not to be ... Sharon took Florabella into rescue after a call from police , she had been pulling a cart she was obviously to young to be doing so but was also very malnourished and dehydrated, her coat thick with parasites and what appeared to be an old injury to her quarters . The truth was the only thing that kept Florabella up was sheer terror from the beatings she had received at the hands of a man we know to this day still keep horses and is allowed to do so . Florabella the moment she realised she was safe when she relaxed went down in agony, on closer inspection from the veterinary surgeon she had been pulling that cart with a severely shattered pelvis . Perhaps then had we had this great group maybe like Carlotta, Coco , Lazaro, Ghost all the horses we have managed to fund life saving operations for... just maybe we could of found an ethical way to save her despite all the odds but this group didnt exist then and for Florabella the kindest thing to do was to let her go to sleep away from the pain. She had one last day of comfort with Sharon , lots of people came to see her and she knew at last she was safe John Clarke Sharons son spoilt her rotten the day Sharon let her go. Since then Sharon has had further calls about horses in appalling conditions pulling carts belonging to this person and still not to this day as a solid prosecution been brought against him for animal cruelty .
