Well, the time has come......count down! In a few days my baby girl is off to Xavier University of Louisiana, a Top Ten HBCU. Tuition, housing, books, meal tickets, and incidentals total to approximately 20K per semester, not year! I had her to do the city college for the first 2yrs to save some money, but from where Im looking from it doesnt feel that way. Im kissing her, shes hugging and kissing me......we are driving each other crazy trying to deal with our new normal for the next 3yrs. Simply, I want to encourage my single moms and married parents that it will all be worth it. We must set our children up to win. My mother was a single Mom and 3 of my siblings graduated from Top Ten HBCUs. It isnt impossible with God! I remember when I first stepped on Xaviers Campus over 25yrs ago. I knew the cost was far beyond me and my family. But I made a promise to God, that if He got me through school, I would do anything for Him. Well, you best believe, HE DID IT! He got me through Xavier lacking nothing with awesome job prospects with IBM in CT and the City of New Orleans. But, He soon took me clean out of Corporate America to do Him! God wants us and our children to be the best that we all can be to advance His Kingdom. Then lets do it. This isnt a cake walk for me, but I trust God to show me how. We are still accepting all scholarships, prayers, & well wishes
