Well, there we go South Africa via the new minister of energy #TinaJoemattPeterson has signed a nuclear infrastructure development agreement with #Russia. This could be viewed as an explicit endorsement of Russias interference in the #Ukraine as well as support for #Russian economic and resource renting in #Africa. Russia is a late entry to the game on the continent; preferring to be a supplier of cheap military hardware. Now its rapid shift in investment in #Zimbabwe and #SouthAfrica has signalled its growing intentions more explicitly. Trying to catch up with other BRICS members is a seemingly good strategy, especially because China and India have been quite expansive in their African adventures. The BRICS networks have been well-used. Sickening in a way though.
