Well, they are at camp. In my elation to give them this experience I dont think I really thought it through. At least the not seeing them or talking to them for a whole week. That may be harder than I expected. Dropping them off was amazingly easy. Colins oncologist is one of the doctors there. And his favorite nurses are there as well as his Child Life buddy, Elise. As you can tell by the minimal photos they let me take, they were in a hurry for us to go. As in dont let the door hit your ass on the way out. So we went. They could not be in better hands. The love and care all the staff have for those kids was palpable. The atmosphere of the camp was fantastic- I am blessed they are getting to experience this. Truly. And now we are home. Resounding silence. I know it will be good for us. But the past 6 months have been non stop. Not more than a few hours to myself at any given time. Sometimes I suppose one forgets how hard it can be to stop moving, thinking and doing. To just be. I have a feeling my mind will catch up with my heart, which will catch up with my body this week. Should be an interesting week.
