Well, this is my first official customer rant. I cant believe - TopicsExpress

Well, this is my first official customer rant. I cant believe that customer satisfaction is still lacking in these tough economic times. Meanwhile, some businesses are underestimating the power of the traditional word-of-mouth and now even the more far reaching, global social media options or they simply just dont care. On 10 April 2014, through my workplace I bought a pair of what is supposed to be a top quality Timberland work shoes for BDS $276 (US $138) from its branded store here in Barbados. One evening as I was taking off my shoes from a long hard day at work, the heel of the right foot shoe became unstuck. I was baffled, because here I am thinking that these are stitched as they appear to be. I stuck it back promptly with some contact cement and carried on. A few days after that the side of the left shoe became unstuck as well. Well, to cut a long story short; yesterday 19 Aug 2014, I went to return the pair of shoes. When I entered I got the usual friendly greeting and there were some customers fitting some shoes. So not wanting to make a scene, I quietly told the lady in charge that I have a problem with the shoes as I handed her the receipt and I showed her the GAPING hole in the side of the left shoe. She allowed me to know that there is only a 3 month warranty on the shoes and shes sorry but she cant help me. I simply took back the receipt, said thank you and walked back through the door. Now, heres where my head is at! If I had bought this pair of Timberlands with my hard earned money, I would definitely be weary of shopping there again! Despite it was workplace that spent the money, I will advise them about future staff referrals, because their expenditures affect my ability to be paid. I would think and was taught at school; that you do your utmost best to make each customer a repeat customer, and also offer them a level of product and service to make them want to spread a good word about your business to increase your customer base and strengthen brand loyalty and image. I am not one to make a scene in public, but I think Ive had ENOUGH! It is said that the pen (or keyboard in this case) is mightier than the sword. I am IRATE about this poor quality brand name product and the service I received from its namesake store. It is time for me to SPEAK OUT and not be silent anymore. THREE (3) MONTHS WARRANTY on a pair of what is supposed to be high quality leather, STITCHED shoes! GIVE ME A BREAK! It has me wondering if these are even genuine shoes? See for yourself. #thepowerofsocialmedia #consumersspeakup
